এবার সতোয়া জলমহালের মাছ লুটের চেষ্টা, পুলিশের সঙ্গে ধাওয়া-পাল্টা ধাওয়া

এবার সুনামগঞ্জের শল্লা উপজেলার সতোয়া জলমহালের মাছ লুটের চেষ্টা করা হয়েছে বলে অভিযোগ উঠেছে। শুক্রবার (৭ মার্চ) সকালে হাজার হাজার মানুষ জলমহালের মাছ ধরতে জড়ো হন। খবর পেয়ে পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থলে গিয়ে বাধা দিলে ধাওয়া-পাল্টা ধাওয়ার ঘটনা ঘটে।
পুলিশ ও স্থানীয় সূত্রে জানা যায়, সকালে জলমহালের আশপাশের গ্রামের কয়েক হাজার মানুষ মাছ ধরার পলো, জালসহ নানা উপকরণ নিয়ে জড়ো হন। খবর পেয়ে পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থলে গিয়ে বাধা দেয়। এতে কয়েক হাজার জনতা ক্ষুব্ধ হয়ে পুলিশকে ধাওয়া দেয়। এ সময় পুলিশ ও জনতার মধ্যে ধাওয়া-পাল্টা ধাওয়ার ঘটনা ঘটে। একপর্যায়ে মাছ ধরতে আসা জনতা জলমহাল ইজারাদারদের দুইটি ছাউনি ঘরে আগুন ধরিয়ে দেয়। পরে সেনাবাহিনী, পুলিশ এবং স্থানীয়দের যৌথ প্রচেষ্টায় পরিস্থিতি নিয়ন্ত্রণ আনা হয়।

উল্লেখ্য, গত এক সপ্তাহ ধরে জেলার দিরাই ও শল্লা উপজেলার কয়েকটি জলমহালে মাছ লুটের ঘটনা ঘটেছে। প্রশাসন ও আইনশৃঙ্খলা রক্ষাকারী বাহিনীর সদস্যরা মানুষকে বোঝালেও তাতে কোনো কাজ হয়নি।
