প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ে কোথাও তালা, কোথাও পরীক্ষা

সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ের সহকারী শিক্ষকদের একাংশ বেতন বৃদ্ধিসহ তিন দফা দাবিতে কর্মবিরতি পালন করছেন। এর মধ্যে আজ বুধবার ‘কমপ্লিট শাটডাউন’ কর্মসূচি শুরু করেছেন তাঁরা। এর ফলে আজ তৃতীয় দিনের মতো দেশের অনেক বিদ্যালয়ে বার্ষিক পরীক্ষা হয়নি। তবে ঢাকাসহ অনেক বিদ্যালয়ে সময়সূচি অনুযায়ী পরীক্ষা হয়েছে। কোথাও কোথাও প্রধান শিক্ষকেরা ‘কোনোমতো’ পরীক্ষা চালিয়ে নিচ্ছেন।
সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ে প্রধান শিক্ষক ও সহকারী শিক্ষকেরা পাঠদান করেন। সারা দেশে সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় আছে ৬৫ হাজার ৫৬৯টি। এসব বিদ্যালয়ে শিক্ষার্থীর সংখ্যা এক কোটির বেশি। শিক্ষক রয়েছেন পৌনে চার লাখের বেশি। সহকারী শিক্ষকের অনুমোদিত পদ ৩ লাখ ৬৯ হাজার ২১৬টি, বর্তমানে কর্মরত ৩ লাখ ৫২ হাজার ২০৮ জন।
গত ২৭ নভেম্বর থেকে তিন দফা দাবিতে কর্মবিরতি শুরু করে ‘প্রাথমিক শিক্ষক দাবি বাস্তবায়ন পরিষদ’। গত সোমবার তারা বার্ষিক পরীক্ষা বর্জন কর্মসূচিও শুরু করে। এই পরিষদ এখন বিদ্যালয়ে ‘কমপ্লিট শাটডাউন’ কর্মসূচি শুরু করেছে।
সরেজমিন চিত্রমেহেরপুরের সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ের ফটক ও শ্রেণিকক্ষে তালা ঝুলিয়ে দেন আন্দোলনরত সহকারী শিক্ষকেরা। সকালে বিভিন্ন বিদ্যালয়ে গিয়ে দেখা যায়, পরীক্ষা দিতে আসা শিক্ষার্থীরা বিদ্যালয়ের সামনে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে। কিন্তু ফটক, অফিসকক্ষ ও শ্রেণিকক্ষে তালা ঝুলে থাকায় তারা ভেতরে ঢুকতে পারেনি। অনেকে অভিভাবকের সঙ্গে ফিরে যেতে বাধ্য হয়। বার্ষিক পরীক্ষা না হওয়ায় শিক্ষার্থী ও অভিভাবকদের মধ্যে ক্ষোভ দেখা দিয়েছে।
গাংনী উত্তরপাড়া সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ের চতুর্থ শ্রেণির শিক্ষার্থী আজমাইল হোসেন বলে, ‘পরীক্ষা দিতে এসে দেখি কক্ষে তালা ঝুলছে। এখন বাড়ি ফিরে যাচ্ছি।’
নওপাড়া সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ের সহকারী শিক্ষক হামিদুল ইসলাম বলেন, শিক্ষক নেতারা বলেছেন পরীক্ষা বন্ধ রাখতে। এ কারণে পরীক্ষা হচ্ছে না। গাংনী উপজেলার প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা কর্মকর্তা এস এম জয়নুল ইসলাম বলেন, বিদ্যালয়ে তালা ঝুলিয়ে দেওয়ার বিষয়টি তাঁরা ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্তৃপক্ষকে অবহিত করেছেন। নির্দেশনা পেলেই প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে।
আজ সিলেটের তিনটি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ের প্রধান শিক্ষকদের সঙ্গে আলাপ করে জানা গেছে, সহকারী শিক্ষকেরা বিদ্যালয়ে উপস্থিত হয়েছেন। তবে তাঁরা কোনো ‘শাটডাউন’ কর্মসূচি পালন করছেন না। ১ ডিসেম্বর থেকে বিদ্যালয়গুলোতে বার্ষিক পরীক্ষা শুরু হয়েছে।
